Duncan's Successful Summer Stretch Begins in
Oregon
Roseburg, OR - Two-time NASCAR Grand National West champ, Mike Duncan
has recently wrapped up a busy and successful spring session. A
win in Colorado, multiple top five finishes, three poles to start the
2007 season and a few, "what might have been" scenarios in Phoenix,
Iowa and Infineon. Now summer is here, and that means the MB
Duncan Motorsports team has arrived in beautiful Roseburg, Oregon for
the Bi-Mart "Firecracker 150" with full expectations to win it.
Even before he left California, Duncan seemed undeniably confident as
he prepared to board his plane. "Yes, I do feel good about where
we are right now", Mike said, and then he countered with the
obligatory, "Now it's a situation where the team and myself have to
execute and do what's necessary to bring home a victory."
Duncan trails points leader, Mike David by a narrow margin and knows
that Oregon is the place to capture the lead. "Things start
getting real interesting when summer rolls around...guys start figuring
out the little problems that can keep them from running out front,
and that means the field gets closer to each other, guys start gripping
the wheel a bit more ...and that's a plus for a veteran team like
ours." The popular driver from Bakersfield shook a few more
hands before boarding the plane, and then shot this writer a wry grin
and said, "I'm feeling good, and I love landing at that Roseburg
airport with those vintage airplanes, so I'm off !"
The Lucas Oil/Ron's Rear Ends/Greenfrogroastingco.com
Chevrolet won this race in 2005, and with the persistent
Duncan behind the wheel - combined with legendary Crew Chief,
Bill Sedgwick - the red, white and blue # 9 car is sure to be a hit at
Douglass County Speedway tonight. The quaint, picturesque city of
Roseburg celebrates the nation's birthday the entire
weekend, so look for Mike Duncan to start the second half of the
year with his own fireworks.
Mike Duncan was the NASCAR Grand National Division Rookie-of-the-Year
in 2000. Behind the leadership of two-time Grand National Champ,
Bill Sedgwick, Duncan and team won the 2004 – 2005 championships.
Together, they compete full time on the Grand National West
series. To learn more about Mike and follow his season, please
