Duncan Dedicates 4th of July Race at Irwindale to American Troops

Irwindale, CA - NASCAR Grand National Division, West series driver and two-time champ, Mike Duncan will be driving the most patriotic car in the entire field tonight for the King Taco 200 at Irwindale Speedway.  The Independence Day race tonight will feature the top drivers in the western United States, and Duncan's instantly recognizable Lucas Oil # 9 Chevrolet with the dominant red, white and blue scheme will fit perfectly into the scenery.

Duncan recently returned from Roseburg, Oregon where a late-race flat tire kept him from finishing in the top five, but he's never sounded more upbeat than now.  "Vance, this race on the 4th of July, in Southern Cal, with family and friends in attendance - well, I can't imagine a better way to celebrate our nation's holiday.  We truly are blessed to be living in the best country in the world."

Speaking of the every-day pleasures and opportunities that we Americans have at our fingertips, Duncan continued with his theme of appreciation by adding, "Tonight's race is going to be dedicated to all of our soldiers stationed around the globe.  Because of their commitment and courage, we're all able to celebrate here with our loved ones and compete in a friendly atmosphere.  Our team salutes them, thanks them and we're going to race hard for them tonight!"

Wrapped up in a heated battle for the points race, Duncan will attempt to grab the lead tonight as he comes to Irwindale without the elusive rabbit's foot that championship teams have to have.  Duncan states, "One of these races we're going to have a little good luck instead of bad, and that's going to feel nice."  Maybe tonight will be that night.

Mike Duncan was the NASCAR Grand National Division Rookie-of-the-Year in 2000.  Behind the leadership of two-time Grand National Champ, Bill Sedgwick, Duncan and team won the 2004 – 2005 championships.  Together, they compete full time on the Grand National West series.  To learn more about Mike and follow his season, please visit www.mbduncanmotorsports.com.
