Back-to-Back NASCAR West Champion Mike
Duncan Attends
Back-to-Back Awards Ceremonies in New York and Las Vegas
Bakersfield, CA - Reigning and back-to-back Grand National West
champion, Mike Duncan spent last weekend in New York City, along with
all of the 2005 NASCAR champions being honored for their successful
season. Dining with NEXTEL champ, Tony Stewart, sharing insights
with Busch series winner, Martin Truex Jr. and watching long-time
Craftsman truck driver, Ted Musgrave accept his award were amongst the
numerous highlights shared by Duncan and the lucky guests to be in
attendance at the NASCAR awards ceremony.
“It was exciting to be back and having been here last year caused us to
be that much more prepared for the pace”, Duncan explained, referring
to the whirlwind of scheduled events that the NASCAR champs are
immersed in upon landing at JFK airport. Duncan, a man of few
words and quite reserved when it comes to superlatives, exclaimed that,
“This year was over and beyond last year’s event. NASCAR went all
out…the very best…first class all the way…very fun!” Duncan then
reveals the favorite part of his New York City weekend: “I love being
able to spend this special time with my wife, Jenny.” He
continues, “These awards events end up being a great way to showcase
the fruits of your labor to your wife – the person who means the most,
and the person I wouldn’t be here without. It’s a nice reward for
both of us to enjoy together.”
Duncan, a fan favorite on the Grand National West Series, felt strongly
that he and his team represented their tour admirably, stating that,
“We did a good job this season, and considering our minimal budget, it
says a lot about the dedication and commitment from my guys . . . I
can’t wait ‘til Phoenix!” Of course, Duncan is referring to the
first race of the 2006 season, when the Lucas Oil/Ron’s Rear
Ends/Greenfrogroastingco.com Chevrolet will begin defending its
back-to-back championships. Yet, there’s still one, very
important awards banquet left, and the location says it all: Las Vegas!
This weekend, the entire MB Duncan Motor Sports team will be attending
the NASCAR Grand National Division, West Series awards party in Las
Vegas, and Duncan beams when he thinks of his team celebrating with
him. With the 2006 season just around the corner, Duncan feels that
this weekend in Vegas is the perfect time to recognize the efforts of
his team and soak up those awesome championship vibes. “All of my
guys and their families will be in attendance, and not only do we get
to celebrate our achievements of this season, we get to rev up our
excitement for next month in Phoenix.”
Clearly, it’s been a nice year for MB Duncan Motor Sports, and with the
holiday season upon us, Mike Duncan and his crew would like to extend
the very best holiday wishes to all racing fans, team sponsors, track
owners, race teams and the racing media. As Mike heads off to Las
Vegas, he shares a final thought, “The people who make NASCAR a part of
their lives all share common bonds, and I wish them all a special
holiday time.”
